Hello, my name is Chai. 你好我的名字叫彩凤。
I live in Keilor Park and I am a mother of 4 adult children. I enjoy gardening and travelling to different countries. I have been a Family Day Care Educator since June 2000.
I hold a Diploma of Children's Services Early Childhood Education and Care. In 2012 and 2013, I proudly won Western Region Educator of the Year Award in Excellence in Family Day Care.
I like being an educator because I have a passion for working with children. I love to see children explore, learn and develop and be happy and fun. My philosophy is to provide high quality education and care in a family environment which is safe, hygienic, nurturing, friendly and fun.
The indoor and outdoor activities I offer to children will enhance and nurture all aspects of their development and are based on their interest and needs. For example, arts and crafts, dramatic play, sand play, gardening, stories, cooking, various physical activities and outings to the local park and playgroup. I provide pickups and drop offs to the local kindergarten as well.
Some activities that the children and I enjoy doing together are reading stories and singing songs, attending playgroup sessions and going to the local park to play.
I can teach the children about the Chinese Language. Previously, I have taught at a Primary School in Malaysia. I also have worked as a sub-editor in a Chinese Press Company for 5 years in Malaysia. I have also taught Chinese language in a Community Language School for 18 years in Melbourne.
In 2005, some parents and I started a playgroup. By starting this playgroup, I can bring children to the playgroup to interact and play with other children from the local community. I am also a member of the East Keilor Community garden. With this connection, I can bring children to the garden to learn about gardening, sustainability and eating and living a healthy lifestyle.
I work in partnership with parents and welcome their input when planning programs for their children. Children will feel secure, protected, valued, respected and have a sense of belonging under my care.
